Camden Youth Soccer Club Commences Play

On a cloudy, windy day, against a backdrop of US-Iraq war coverage, a thousand people gathered at the Camden High School practice fields to open Camden's first-ever youth soccer season.

Between interviews for the radio show we starred in, Life-Net Radio's editor/host shot these photos--not intended as full photojournalistic coverage:

The 'Parade of Champions' begins. Every player and coach was introduced to the crowd by name.
Selected players ready to give a '21-ball salute' (kicking 21 balls toward the grandstands)
An overview shot of the fields as soccer action begins in Camden
A team in red and blue practices
Another team doing a drill
Two girls show us their uniforms with the CYSC logo
A team who asked us to take their picture, with pretzels and soda that were being sold Part of the large-sounding small group heard cheering near the end of our show
